Application Process
Applications are evaluated on scientific merit, translational potential, and team capability. The process involves a written application, expert review, and a final pitch presentation to the SPARK committee. The call for the 2026-2028 cohort runs from 4 May to 29 June 2026.
Application steps
Step 1: Account creation at the call for projects portal
Log in with your university credentials, or create an account if this is your first time.

- The template supports projects from early proof of concept to advanced translational stages
- If information is not yet available, state your current understanding and next steps instead of leaving sections blank
- The template covers scientific, clinical, translational, and team aspects, as well as your translational mindset
Step 3: Upload and submit
Complete the application form, convert it to PDF, upload it to the SPARK-Bordeaux 2026 call for projects page, and submit by 29 June 2026 at 23:59 (CEST)
Review process
Applications are evaluated by:
- The SPARK team for completeness and eligibility
- Scientific reviewers for scientific merit and feasibility
- The SPARK committee for translational potential and market opportunity
Shortlisted teams are invited to pitch their project to the SPARK committee. Final selection is based on both the written application and the pitch, including a Q&A session.
