SPARK Concept
SPARK Bordeaux
SPARK Bordeaux is a personalized support program for researchers leading an innovation project in health developed by the University of Bordeaux, based on the model established by the Stanford University School of Medicine in 2006. The aims of the program are to enable academic innovation to progress in the translational chain, and to help create a research and training environment focused on innovation.
The program is aimed at researchers and clinicians leading an innovative research project with unmet medical needs as its target. Over a 2-years period, it provides support for a project:
The project leaders - "SPARKees" - will be part of the SPARK community, comprising project leaders, coaches, and advisors from academia and industry, and will meet once a month to make projects progress and to detect project leaders needs. Dedicated training, support from coaches and experts, and funding will help the project to progress and to reach the milestones defined in its development plan.
The funding is up to a maximum of € 50,000 per year for a maximum of 2 years.
